so excited!
ok the other thread (a snake that bites) got old so im starting a new one! we found a snake that the pet store is calling an amazon valley redtail, but we have never heard of such a thing, so we searched it and it kept coming up with peruvian redtails (because they are from the amazon) and we are pretty positive thats what this snake is. we are going to get it in the morning, woohoo! i cant sleep im so excited.
wa are wondering if any of u have peruvians that u can post some pics of? or if yall know any distinctive traits we can look for? she/he looks just like all the pics we have seen. and they are only asking $149.

If it is truely a peruvian then way to go on the price, but it doesn't sound likely. When you get him make sure to take those pictures so the "local experts" can let you know.

I don't know if this helps but here are a few pictures of my Peruvian Boa. Also you might want to check out Gus from RioBravoReptiles.com. He has a lot of great Peruvian Boa pictures. His website helped me a lot in getting information on them.
But yea, your best pet is to get some pictures and post them on here.

we will definitly post some pics in the morning! her saddles dont connect like yours koshde, do they have to? but other than that her/his colors and markings are alot like yours, beautiful snake btw! we dont really care if she is we will love her anyway!
heres some pics of her temporary enclosure, we just got back from walmart, got everything for $30!

Thanks for the compliments on Cleo  I don't think any traits are a must, they are just more typical is all. Most experts are going to argue that it really comes down to where the ancestors were imported from, so locality. Don't quote me on any of that though! lol
You are right though, what matters is if you like her I had the coolest looking JCP ever but he was also the biggest pain in the arse ever too. Cleo has a wonderful temperment and is no trouble at all (so far lol) and to me personally that is the most important factor.
Wow only 30 dollars for that setup? Good deal! |
