Calcium spray?

I was searching the web and came across this calcium spray stuff for snakes... You're supposed to spray it on the food before you feed the snake and i was woundering if its even necessary since they get calcium from the food itself??

Another thing is, do any of you use the protective skin spray that you spray on the snakes or lizards to keep their skin healthy?

I would not of thought it was necessay to add additional calcium as the mouse / Rat is a pretty complete nutrient package providing it was healthy. I know you use it with lizards in terms of dusting powder for crickets/locust etc. I do with my frilled dragon but that is to address a calcium imbalance in the food item. I also never use the skin treatments, if the environment is correct in the vivarium then their should be no need. After all in the wild they do not nip into Body Shop to pick up some moisturizer.

Cheers
Nick

I wouldnt do it. The less "meds" your giving your snakes the better. They do get everything thing from a proper sized meal.

As for the skin stuff.. lol, a misting bottle and warm water will do the same thing
