Can someone please talk me thru this...
Ok this is probably going to sound just awful but i dont have any other ideas so... My boyfriend is a complete moron. A few weeks ago he came home with a huge tank containing not 1 but 2 columbian Red tails!!!He got them from a friend and thinks he is going to breed them. At first everything was good and whatnot. Now he seems to have lost interest. I have never owned snakes befor but I have fallen in love with the female! She is a beautiful 2year old almost 5 feet in length and much stronger than me! I dont think too much of her little weenie boyfriend though. Problem is I know NOTHING about caring for her. I think i have a place for the little guy but I really want to learn everything I can to be Rosa's good owner. Im not sure how much info everyone can offer but please anything will help.

The care sheet is definitely the place to begin, and you have found the Boas Forum, so it looks like you are off to a good start!

Your moron boyfriend doesn't deserve you or the snakes. Thank you for picking up his slack. Read through the caresheets and come back here if there are any questions from them. They are easy to fall in love with, that is how I fell in love with mine and got into the hobby. Now my husband thinks he's created a monster.

Rosa, definitely read the caresheet that Piercedfreak told you about. Also, if you have any questions definitely post them on this website. The folks here are friendly, and have been a valuable resource to me, and I'm sure they will be for you too.
Good luck!

with 2 snakes in the same tank make sure you at least seperate them to eat. it really isn't good to have them together. i agree with heidi, throw the boyfriend out! do these snakes have heat in thier tank? you dont need them breeding. please seperate as soon as possible.
