New Set Up for her. Need temp Check to see if its ok
I just redid her cage since the newspaper wasn't cutting it for me. That bowl has about 2" of water in it and she was actually in there by her self. Since I redid the tanks and added the new heat pad on the side she seems to be more active. The temps are 70.5 on the cool side, 84.4 on the warm side and 74% humidity after I just got done misting the bedding. I will check the temps of the hide on the warm side and post those later, just checking to see if these temps are ok. I will be feeding her tomarrow and will post some pics then. The heater on the side is a zoomed 50-60 gallon heater. It recomended that I put it on the side to raise ambient temps and it has raised them about 5 degrees so far. Before just a small area was warm and now the whole side where the heater is is warmer. I still have a heater under it but I moved it more toward the center to spread the heat out a bit. She never stays still now and is thermoregulating more then before since she has more than a few different temps to choose from.

Your temps are too cool for a boa. If that snake survives the winter like that, I'll be shocked. 88 hot side. low 80s cool side...or you can start planning now where to bury your snake. You might try adding a dome light on top with a 20 or 40 wat bulb. Cover most of the top with plastic. It will hold heat and humidity better.

I keep a towel over 3/4 of the top. The probe of the indoor outdoor therm is in the hide on the warm side now and it currently reads 80 degrees. I replaced the uth and the temps are raising in the hide. There are other places that are warmer that she can go too if she needs too. I will recheck temps in a few minutesi

Would it be better to replace the heating pad under instead of the side of the tanks?

Ok, the new temp on the box it 89 degrees and the cool side is about 75 now. Not going to put the probe over there. I was using a heat buld but it lowered humidity way to much, as long as she has a few warm spots to go to she chould be fine right? She can get warm at 89 and cooler at 75 ish if she would like.

How would I do that? I don't want to take the heat light off of the leos. I will get a more acurate temp check of the cool side.

Decoded since I have a heat mat under the hot hide that I would reposition the heat mat on the back middle of the cage. It should help heat the middle as well as the cool side a bit. If this doesn't work I will go put it under the tank and put the other one on low setting on the cool/middle side of the tank also under it. I will work with the temps till I can get them right

Get some styrofoam to put around the backside and the side without the heater on it to insulate it once and see if that helps any. KEEP IT AWAY FROM ANY HEAT SOURCE THOUGH!!
(I mean if you still have the heater on the side of the tank, do not cover that with styrofoam)

Ok, the warmer side is 85. Where the heating pad is looks to be 91 but can't get a perfect temp check there and the cool side is 77 now. Humidity is just over 50% now
