Redtail Age?

How old would you say the typical redtails sold in petstores are? I'm sure this can vary by quite a few months, but I'm curious as to how old mine is. S/he is a little smaller than a quarter at the thickest girth, and probably 20inches or so. Any guesses?

Depends on what kind of boa it is. Judging by your signature it's a columbian. Mine is about that size and he's a little over 6 months old. However it could be either underfed or overfed in the petstore so in theory it could be anywhere from 3 months to 8 or 9 months.

It could vary based upon what other blood types he has in him. For example if he's got Guyana Blood in him he might be a newborn and be around 20 inches. I've seen newborn Guyanas that are close to two feet before. He also might have central american blood in him and be almost a year and barely getting to 20 inches. A lot of petstores are known for having mixed breeds and not caring for their animals nearly as well as a breeder or someone knowledgable and caring like one of us folks.
