WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure they do a culture and sensitivity this time to make sure they are using the correct antibiotics..... If the bacteria has built up a resistance to the Amikacin that could be the reason for the problem reaccuring.

the first thing you do after the surgery better be posting the results here. i really hope it goes ok. thank you for saving this snake and attempting to. good luck! i think everytime one of us dedicated, passionate herp keepers find out about a mistreated herp, it takes part of us with it. i know it did with the rescue burm i had.

Nice abcess! Those are always tons of fun. That looks a whole lot worse than it really is. A little debriding, lancing, cleaning and antibiotics should make it go away fairly soon. Good luck

I think we're gonna need a bit more then luck! Yuk!
Thanks though guys....
All you live feeding people!!! Take note!!
I could choke the people that feed live and leave the rats in the cage with their snakes! This is the result people!! Boo was bit in the eye and face by a live rat. I chose to rescue this snake and swore he would never eat another live rat and he hasn't! Now he's going through a second surgery because of some stupid dork who couldn't take the time to watch out for his snake! And if I made you mad, then GOOD! I hope you think twice about just throwing in a live rat and walking away from your snake! Nuff said....
