wanting a good breeder
Hello im done with petstores and im wanting to make sure i get a male BCI im looking at Clay English snakes and also Bob Clark is there anybody else that is around 200.00 shipped is my looking amount. Also wanting to know where should i buy the setup i was reading where Clay said it was ok to buy a adult size tank right off. So im thinking about either a Vision or a Boaphile but need help decideing on size and heating so that i can get the setup done and ready for the snake this summer. Thanks P.S. i was also told that male CB Burms don't get that big in captive keeping. Is this true or not? like say a 12ft is that still small for a male or do they grow bigger?

Is this your first large snake? If so stay away from any burms. Males can get quite large at easily 17 feet. Brett could tell you how big Max is to give you an idea.
If you get a male boa I'd get a 421d cage from Boaphile. I'm about to by my first stack from them. I have heard nothing but the best about Boaphile.

male burms get from 12'-15', i tend to hear commonly 14'. heh, 12' snake is HUGE dude. thats 100lbs of snake easily. i believe max is right around 14'. Dbuttons male, kramer, is 14.5'. burms are not for beginners, and trust me, they grow fast. i got one thats easily doubled in size in the 5months ive had it. nothing besides underfeeding can control a burms size, and thats cruel and i would hop you wouldnt want to do that to any animal.
ive heard nothing bad about boaphile except that the service sucks.

A couple points; first, if you need to buy your breeder on the cheap then most likely you can't afford the multiple other expenses associated with breeding. For example, got caging for 20 plus babies?
Also, your caging questions are rather basic for someone who believes they are ready for breeding boas.
Finally, unless you are highly experienced you should not even be thinking about a burm, or breeding boas for that matter.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but these things need to be considered before you make any moves in this direction or the animals will suffer for it.

Wreck I dont think this guy is looking for a 'Breeder' snake. I think he is looking for a Snake Breeder that he can purchase a boa or burm from. Thats my take on it any way

Yer i agree Rex boas dont grow as big as burms do and they tend to be more calm and easier for a begginer to handle.

well many burms are just as calm as boas. but for burms, you HAVE to have someone there everytime you even open the cage.that and food costs..jeesh

Well if you are looking for a boa you could go to my site. I have several males and females ranging from 6 months old to 1 1/2 years old and well inside your price range. If it is a burm you want, try albinoburmese.com. Craig has some beautiful snakes at very reasonable prices and they are as healthy as you can find since he is a Vet that specializes in reptiles.
Good luck.
