got my bci probed
i called up the local herp society and talked to the president who i found out was really big on boas. i asked him if he can probe my bci i got a few days ago and he agreed to do it. i go to his house and his garage is chalk full of snakes in immaculately clean cages, nicely set up. his garage is all insulated and cages heated perfectly. now he is a man in his late 60's and yet he still has the energy to breed his own rats, clean the cages, take care of his snakes. etc. he probed my snake and she turned out to be a female like i suspected. i will name her nikita. he has about 7 good sized boas and he let me handle his 9 ft female. now this is the first time i ever handled a snake over 5 ft and i was amazed at the strength of the snake. gentle, calm, very tame and it gets me eager to have my girl grow. he has different colubrids, a blood python, several ball pythons, a pair of dumerils, and even a hot. it was overall a good day and the best part of that day was handling the 9ft female... just awesome.

Congrats on finding out you have a girl~! You think they Boa was strong? You should of handled the Blood~! Not the longest of snakes but easily one of the strongest~!  |

you know i wanted to handle the blood but it was a rescue and was in pretty bad shape. the poor thing had 4 or 5 sheds stuck on him and they were soaking it at the time. didnt want to bother it. i actually wanted a blood but im gonna wait...

Congrats on your little girl. She'll grow fast enough. They are amazing to handle when they get bigger, very strong and docile (for the most part). I miss handling my big guy who I just found out moved to Florida. Sniff, sniff. I doubt I'll ever see him again.

I held a 4 foot blood and it was stronger than any boa I have ever handled. Huge girth and all muscle
