Need advice from boa keepers...

Hello everyone. I plan on getting a RTB this winter. I was just wanting some advice on the size enclosure that a full-grown RTB requires and some advice on the accessories I should purchase to take care of it. I have experience with smaller snakes such as corn snakes and ball pythons. I own 2 corn snakes right now that are only a few months old. I feel I am ready for the responsibility of owning a larger snake. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Justin

Male, Female, and what subspecies of RTB are you looking to get? The have a range of around 6ft to 12ft or so.

I am not totally sure yet as to what gender or subspecies I want to get. It probably won't be a true Columbian RTB. I was looking at a Central American subspecies at the local pet store the other day. I may want a male since they do not get quite as big as females, but would also be happy to get a female. Size isn't a big issue to me.

I feel that 6x2x2 is optimum but lots of folks use 4' cages.

I would agree with WW but I know alot of people use 4 ft, and only 12 -15" for the height of the tank. I find cleaning and general maintenance easier in 2 ft tall tanks.

cheers
Nick
