There is really now way to tell what it's exact locality is. But it is more than likely a mainland firebelly or one of the crosses between a Roatan and a mainland, of which there were many.
I am happy either way though. It is a nice female, very gentle and after a year of getting her into proper condition I will breed her and see if that color passes along. I will keep my eyes open for any males that come available, but I am not holding my breath. There just aren't very many of them around.

Very nice snake. Not what has become to be known as the Firebellies, in my opinion. I would hope that when you produce babies you will not label them as Rotan firebellies. Too much of that going on.
They will definitely pick up some of that awesome color though Im sure. Keep us posted on the outcome.

Funny thing is that the picture that made everyone go WOW is of a snake that is aggitated and, according to people who have had and bred Roatan firebellies, that is the only time that they have such an intense appearance. They usually look more like this>
And get an even lighter background color at night. I just have a crappy camera and can't get the reds to show up as they look in person. I will get a better camera to use soon.
Oh yea, of course I wouldn't lable any babies that I got from that female at Roatan firebellies. That would be ubsurd if I didn't have a male Roatan and clear lineage of the female. I know that some people will put whatever they think will make them an extra buck in their adds, but that doesn't go on around here.
