My rtb usually soaks right before he has to poop, which he will do in the water tub or along side of it.

Well he just shed a week ago, and he got out of the water bowl and didnt poop. No little mite looking things in the water either. Guess he was just pretending to be a sea snake

i wouldnt worry about him soaking if you didnt see mites or anything, i mean my female soaks all the time, with no problems, usually before she soaks or poops, sometimes after a meal, or sometimes just for fun. as long as theres no mites/ticks, and humidity/temps are fine, i wouldnt worry too much about it

I would mount that hygrometer instead of keeping in it on the floor. Keep it atleast 2-3 inches from base to get relative humidity inside enclosure.

Yep, my girl is the same way. Especially when it starts getting warmer here in AZ. Since her cage sometimes gets too warm in the summer I make sure she's got nice cool water to soak in.
