first meal!
Good news!
We gave in and fed Dante last night... he just looked hungry (his previous feeding schedule was every Friday, and he missed this Friday, so he probably was a bit hungry). It was his first time getting f/t, and pinky rats at that (he had been getting live mice), so we didn't know how he would react the first time. He had no problem striking at it twice, but dropped it both times. So I stuck it in front of the entrance of his large hide, covered his cage, and left him alone for a few hours.
We couldn't resist checking on him before we went to bed for the night, and the rat was gone!
Okay, so maybe it's a silly thing to get excited about, but it's such a relief! I really thought the conversion was going to be harder than that... nope! No trouble at all.
