exhaling
i had chance outside for 4 hours today. she was crawling alot and she kept letting out loud exhales the whole time. i know that is normal for large snakes but she really seems like she runs out of breath right away. i know she is a little over weight.
my question is: does all large snakes do that like the whole time? it is not a RI. plus after about 3 of the hours she crawled in my lap and like passed out, like a dead sleep. when i brought her in like 7 hours ago she hasnt moved from the spot in her cage i put her in. it is like today just really wore her out?
does all this seem normal?

No, but I know a lot of large constrictors make a bit more "noise" when breathing as they get closer to shedding... especially if they're out and about for any length of time. She doesn't have to be in blue to be tight in her skin and making her work harder. Just a thought.

Keep an eye on her for a couple of weeks. If it gets worse, don't hesitate to bring it up. I doubt it though... I bet she'll loose the extra noise when she sheds.
