Hides

HI all another question from lil ole me lol. I decieded 3 days ago that I was gonna give all vivs a good clean down which I did. However I busted trins hide (an up turned plastic box) and it had some sharp edges so I didnt give it her back. Well the funny thing is she went under her newspaper substrate instead but whats amused me is that since she didnt have a hide she's been much more calmer to handle? Has anyone else found this!
Also I should add that the reason I dont have a hide at either end is because her hides too big and I dont have the ground space for 2 of em untill new vivs completed (Still waiting on glass), so I place hers so it kinda has a warm end and a cool end.
Its with regret that I have now given her a new hide bought today, I know she'll use it and become a bigger handfull than she already is. Cheers Buck

think of it this way...if you're comfy in bed and are snoozing, you prolly wouldnt appreciate being ripped out of bed to be messed with either.. lol

Your snake may just be tired from a lack of sleep. Snakes kinda need a hide to minimize stress and to give them a "dark place"... seeing how they don't have any eye lids and all. I'd get a new hide when you get the chance.

I have hides and 3" substrate. Mine vary but the Suri stays buried all day long. Sometimes I can't even find her until I dig around and hear her hissing. Now my others are starting to prefer hiding under the substrate as well #$%^&#$%^&#$%^& opposed to hide boxes. They do seem to enjoy the silk Ivey I have in the enclosures. It's like they can see me but I can't see them. I hope using this is OK because it is attractive and they like it a lot-oh and it is cheap. Did I mention it is cheap?
