RTB Baby colors?

I saw a fairly newborn RTB last night - it was silver/gunmetal in color. Was told this is fairly normal and would change color as it got older into the more 'pinkish/tan' color, and finally dark at full growth. So . . . can colors at birth be so different in the same clutch? Just curious since I am considering getting a male for my female. Not sure - but thinking about it - and it's alot to think about. TIA

I always thought that the colors RTBs are born with are how they will mostly stay for their life. I know that the tails do get darker in color as they grow older. I am not sure though...

Boas do darken with age. Tail, body, everthing. But this doesn't mean that they will get dark like a nicaraguan. They just aren't as shiny and silvery(if thats a word) and their tails turns a orange-brownish color.

Most boas get an amber to brown cast to their overall color as they mature. I've known people who got very upset buying a "silver" colored baby only to have it mature with a darker overcast. It's just the nature of the beast!!!

I understand that they do darken with age - but have never seen a baby this color before. Of course my exposure has been limited - only seen babies at the reptile show last August, a shop, and another shop where they breed their own - which is where this silver baby is. I'm just wondering if it would retain this coloration as it aged, even if there were some amber or browns that came in later. None of the babies for sale a year ago were this color - so my curiousity is aroused.

I am sure that it will eventually darken somewhat, as most boas do. Mine was a bit on the silvery side, but has darkened somewhat and is still beautiful. It actually shows more color now, and I think the color has gotten better with pastel hues in the belly area which were not present as a neonate.
