Isn't that tail a bit dark for a Colombian? I don't know a whole lot about the localities but thought the tail looked darker then most normal BCI. Couldn't help with the size but I bought my first one about a yearling and he was not a whole lot smaller than that.

Looks like a common Columbian to me too. And as for the tail being dark, there are many different variances in boa tails. Actualy it looks like it is about to shed in the pictures. If you look close at the pics you can see the haze on it's back as if it is in that jsut about to shed stage. And after that the tail could totally change in appearance. Nice looking snake regardless of what the locality is.

I'd be inclined to dub it a Colombian BCI as well. Looks like it has some nice circle-back qualities. As Dbutton indicated, tail color can vary dramatically in BCI's, with some I've seen nearly black. Looks like a very nice animal!

Id hate to be the only one to disagree with everyone else, but I am inclined to believe that the snake pictured looks to have quite a bit of Central American in him. I now own a collection of around 20 nicaraguans and around 10 colombians. The only thing that is against my thinking is the fact that is only a year and a half old. If this is true then I would have to say he is a cross between common boa/colombian and central american/possible Nicaraguan. My pure Nics are only around two to three foot long at a year and a half or so. Hope this helps and feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Thanks
Bob

I just looked at the pictures more closely, and my official decision, lol, is that it is a BCI!! LOL
Actually I do believe it the result of breeding a common boa with a central american boa.

The pattern looks similar to an El Salvadoran that a friend of mine has, however, they don't grow that fast/ large. I'm thinking a cross as well.

what kind of boa is this
Actually he i not about to shed he just shed a few days ago. He has a dark tail and a lot of orange on the sides. In the pick 100 0273 where she is holding him across you can see the underside of his tail Look how orange it is on his belly. The reason I am asking is I think he is too small. In the same picture look at the size of his head compared to her thumb. I am hoping he is going to grow to be a normal size boa but I don't see it happening unless he hits a growth spurt. I thought they were supposed to be at adult size by two years.
