Best place to buy Albino boa
This will be my first boa, so I figure I will do it good the first time.
Who has the best line of Albinos out there?
Frantz
Burke
Kahl
Boaphile
$ is not an issue, its for my son, So my wife will let me spend what ever it takes.
I would like good lines for future breeding, I can wait for summer, due to the issues of weather up here in Montana( 35 during the day 11 at night) so summer delivery might be better.
any help would be nice
thanks
Gonzo

There are two known types of albino boas. Sharpe and Kahl. The genetics are not compatible with each other so if you breed unknown bloodlines to each other, you could end up with normals het for both types but homo for neither. Unfortunatly, greed has driven these animals into very intense inbreeding projects and there are no strong lines of albino boas. That genepool is about as shallow as it gets and getting shallower every day. Many health issues are running unchecked and being spread throughout. As if it weren't enough for these animals to endure being genetic flaws anyway...
Anyway...You can probably tell I'm no big fan of albino breeding or anything that promotes massive inbreeding projects so maybe someone will come along and tell you what it is you want to hear.

I think for something like an Albino boa you need to go to a reliable source you can trust. I would go straight to PK Reptiles or Boaphile. Your going to pay anywhere from $1000-$1750 depending on the line, colors, pattern, etc. Your probably better off getting a pair of Hets for $500.

There are quite a few combinations of morphs being worked into albinos at this point. How much money do you have to work with? The more you put out the better the animal will be for future breeding stock.
Get a female vs a male at this point if you want to breed, they take 1 or 2 years longer to sexually mature.
Check out this arabesque albino that I just got, they run around 3k -6k: Arabesque Albino (Many New Pictures!)
