Hi there all! Some of you may remember me posting here awhile back about a snake I rescued from a pet store. The thread was called "What am I?" and it was determined that my guy was a
Hypo. I really appreciate your help with that!
I had promised to get some pictures up and I am adding one to this post. As you can see he is eating well and his beautiful skin shines now! It has been hard keeping up with him as he is working on his second shed since I posted the other thread. Trying to get pictures when he is "right" has been hard. He shed cleanly and in whole for the previous shed including eye caps! I was very happy to see this and what a lovley snake he is turning out to be. He has some slight speckling but not much. He does have a whole lot of pink throughout is lighter throughout the majority of his body (not saddles) than most
Hypo's I've seen. He's different but I think he's beautiful anyhow <G>
He appreciates a good soak, no
mites but he does like to soak. So this picture was taken after a good 2-3 hour long soak and his colors are darker in the pic than he is in "real life" if that makes sense?
He is once again in shed and I will try hard to get him photographed fresh from shed. He is growing in leaps and bounds and I am truly not sure how old he is given his poor upkeep before I got him. Is it possible, as it is in dogs etc.., that the care he didn't get stunted his growth a bit for the moment?
No matter one way or the other, he has a home forever with myself and my family!
I have added to my collection other the past couple of months. I bought a neonate pastel earlier this year and was recently able to purchase a breeding pair from the same breeder. I also purchased a sub-adult female Ball Python who will be ready to breed next year as she is only 893.03 grams at the moment and an adult strangely patterned male BP. He is blacker in the back then most and is missing most of the black spots in the gold/green area markings on top and sides. Very different but really neat! I will work on getting pic's of the new comers.
I am very pleased with my rescue fella and how well he has come through everything. He has quite the heart!
I am looking forward to going through and reading some of the posts I have missed since the last time I visited. I've had some major family issues arise and now that I've got those figured out it won't be so bad. At least after the move...
Speaking of which, what is the safest way to transport my snakes while moving? I am moving 8 hours away to another state. The very least amount of time my snakes will be on the road is that 8 hours and it might be longer. I don't want them overheated but I don't want them freezing either. They would, of course, be riding inside the cab of my truck and inside the cars. Any thoughts or ideas, especially those things that might easily be over looked I would appreciate hearing. I don't want anybody sick or dying. We will have a bit of an altitude change as well. How is this going to affect my snakes?
Thanks again for all your help with my rescue fella. He appreciates it and so do I!
