Took the big girl out for some exercise (56K nightmare)
It was a beautiful sunset so I took my big girl out for some exercise in the "Boa" tree in my back yard. She climbed around for a while and I got some good shots. The pictures I wish I could have gotten were of me trying to get her out of the tree when it was time to come in. Those would have made everyone laugh. That is when you find out just how strong they really are.

Thanks, she is around 7 ft. now and has put on some weight since I got her. I do plan on breeding her this winter with my new high pink male so I have let her put on a little extra weight to help with the yolk production. He is in shed right now Or I would have had him out too. Just too flighty while he is in shed. I do like to take them out and let them hang out in that tree alot. I also take my 2 burms out sometimes and let them roam around. They have gotten a little too big for me to carry up and down the stairs by myself now so they don't get out as often as the boas.
Oh yea, she ate 2 huge jumbo rats eary last week and so she probably still looks a little fatter than usual.

I like that stripe she has. Was that a breeder fluke or is it genetic? Shes BCI right?

She is a BCI and I am still not sure of the origin of the stripe, genetic or temp manipulation. I am hoping for genetic, but first I have to get a genetic striped tail male. There are some proven het for genetic stripe tail albino's for sale that I would love to try but alas my pockets are not full enough yet.

I was waiting for someone to ask about that. When I got her over the winter she had a strange looking spot on her nose. I watched it but didn't see that it would be any serious problem. Well the first time she shed I went to check her and found her rubbing her face and saw that she had a bunch of skin still attached to her face. Well it turns out that she had not shed right ther for whatever reason for quite some time. So I cut the excess off around the spot and then started putting neosporin on it to soften it up. After about a week of that and her rubbing it it all came off revealing cartilage below. Well the neosporin continued until it scabbed over and then I apply it once a day still to keep any infection away. She has shed once since then and the shed was fine with a perfect hole right where the sore is. I figure that after about 3 or 4 more shed she should be fine and the spot gone. it jsut takes time and care.
