What would you do?
With this fancy little thing?
I posted this pic elsewhere and have gotten quite a response. Been feeling a bit overwhelmed since then. Hoping I could get some good answers and advice. When I first posted the pic I didn't expect the response I've receieved. I think its a bit bigger of a deal that I have first thought.
*Backgroud info... This snake is the only one of the clutch that looks like this, however a male that looks identical was born last year from the same parents* **Neither are for sale**
This must be genetic correct? Would both parents be double hets? What would the siblings be?

Parents both look normal. They both came from different owners, one of which was moving and didnt want it anymore. The other got too large and was given to my friend.

eeeek!
No telling what genetic lines the parents have then.....
Did you have any temperature fluctuations during the time momma was gravid during either clutch?
Oh yeah, welcome aboard

No as far as we know there was not temp changes that could have caused it. And it would be pretty weird for the same problem to occur 2 years in a row.

And even odder if a temp change did it to just one baby both times.
Maybe you do have something genetic going on.
I take it that you haven't tried breeding them (mom & pop) with any other snakes to see if it happens then also?

No not yet. The only ones of breeding we have are the original parents. In 6-8 months we hope to breed last years male (looks like one in pic) back to its mother to see what happens.
But yeah if it had just happened once I would be a little sceptical, but since we have had 1 in each of the last two clutches it seems maybe genetic.

Welcome aboard!
Have the parents only been bred the 2 times?
I am so green with envy!
I have a female that is that pink, but no striping, with very little black.

How many babies have you produced from the parents. how many the frist year and the second. If both parents are het for that trait than %25 of the offspring will show the recessive trait.
