That darn Bird and her EGGS!

I have a Sun Conure who must think she is a brood mare! She dropped eggs May 2003, November 2003 and this morning I found another in her cage which means she is up for another trio!

Does anyone know how often they go throught this routine?

She is about 10 yrs old and last year was the first egg laying episode of her life. I have supplemented her diet with calcuim each time to restore the calcium she is using up during this process.

Thanks for any info

I used to have a pet dove that laid eggs all the time. She only laid one at a time..usually about once a month. They never seemed to have an impact on her health. It was neat to see her 'nesting' on the egg. She would have been a good mommy

wonder if conure eggs are good poached.

It just hit me...nearly every bird I have ever had has been male. I think Posha is my first female bird ever. Megan has 2 female birds but I dont think Posha or either of megan's birds have ever laid. Both of our conures are males....so I really don't have any clue. I wonder if breeding would help any..again...no idea...If that becomes something to think about, you are welcome to borrow Picasso though.

Hmm, maybe that would calm both of those nutty birds down! I may have to consider that....
Whats funny is she usually gets all cranky and pms-ish before she drops and this time I didn't notice a change in behavior. Could be she feels more comfortable with me now then before.
