Monty and Beeker
These are my Alexandrine Parakeets, Monty(female) and Beeker (male). Beeker is the one with the colors. Monty's full name is Monty Bird. She was named after Monty Burns from the Simpsons. When I first got her I thought she was a he but now I know she is a she. I don't know how old she is, guessing 3-5 years old. Beeker was named after the character from the Muppets. He will be 3 y.o., Feb. 2nd. I got Monty from some people in Florida and Beeker from a lady in Zion, IL. When I first got Beeker he hadn't developed his colors yet so he looked almost exactly like Monty and to make things worse they both came with the same style of cage. The only way to tell them apart for awhile was to look at their eyes. Beeker has a blue ring in is eye, Monty doesn't. True story.
Ok, technology and I just don't get along. If someone would fix this for me and maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong I'd appreciate it.

Yeah, they get along very well. When I first brought Beeker home, they hated each other. I kept their cages side by side on a table. It took a couple months before they realized Hey you're a guy, I'm a gal, all riiiiight. I took them in the shower with me today and they sat on the shower curtain rod barfing in each others mouths. How sweet and disgusting. Hey baby, I love you. Let me barf in your mouth.

They are probably about 7-8" tall, 18-20" from head to tail. They really don't like it when I try to measure them. Alexandrines, like most psitticula, are not very affectionate but they do like to be on me and they like it when I talk to them. Beeker has a thing for mouths. He'll sit and stare at my mouth while I talk to him. They don't like to be touched. Attempting to pet them will result in a bite and that doesn't feel good. As you can see they have big beaks for their body size. They love destroying things. Wood toys, door and window trim, chairs, computer keyboards, rubber buttons on the TV remote. Beeker is probably my best talker. I need to work with him more though because he seems to be forgeting some words. Monty used to talk but when Beekie came along she decided to let him do the talking for both of them. Every once in awhile she'll say something but she usually just whistles.
