Oh my gosh that is awesome! I've been wanting finches for a long time, the orange ones though not the yellows. Where are you from that you guys have such nice finches there?

Re: Finches, mostly

I am outside of Sacramento, California (central/ northern CA). We can't get any dang hummingbirds, which is what the fiancee wants. Maybe when that cherry tree next door has ripe fruit.....

I'd like to feed those doves to one of my snakes, though. Surprised they can fly, they're so dang fat.

Re: Finches, mostly

This is getting a little bit morbid. Last year, a bird feeder fell on a sparrow, killing him (I named him Jimmy). Today, a yellow finch flew into our window (all his buddies made it over the house) and likewise, umm......flew the coop, so to speak. I named him Frank.

So, we've now killed 2 birds with feeders we own.

Re: Finches, mostly

I just noticed about the beginning of this week that goldfinches returned to my area. There were about 4 or 5 of them feeding at my window bird feeder. I love goldfinches.

Soon I will have to put out my hummingbird feeder for when the hummers return.
