Hiked to a stand of cedar trees that are often used by Saw-Whet Owls
(Aegolius acadicus) as an early spring refuge. Unfortunately it look as if
the saw-whet's had already dispersed for the season. However, I was
pleasantly surprised to see a rare (rare in my neck of the woods)
Long-eared Owl (Asio otus).
