To start off I am not a bird person so any help would be great I recently acquired a red headed conure. he is getting to be a farely nice bird. The thing I want to know is there any way to tell what the bird is trying to say by the way he communicates with you. last couple of days he has changed his way of speaking from a loud annoying squak tokinda a turkey like call is this a need to be alarmed?

Who knows???
Maybe he is just trying to say what he thinks you are!

Do you talk to it a lot or let it hears sounds similar to it on tv or radio?

no, no need to alarmed. conures are wierd talkers anyways..lol i have a cherry head conure, and a white eyed conure. you just have to listen very carefully and you will understand what they are saying. took me almost 6 months to understand my little guys. but i finally got it.he he. every bird is different, though. just be patient
