I'm getting 2 cockatoo's :)

I have a cockatoo for over 10 years.Well now I am getting 2 for FREE! They are 2 years old and a male & female.They are giving me both their cages to (each are over 3 ft) They were going to bing them to me friday,but I have a Tropical storm possible hurricane coming my way (Hannah)

I posted on our local free-cycle that I need a fish tank.this sweet lady emailed and told me she has a couple I could have.So sat. my husband and I went to her house and she gave me another tank/stand/filter,etc.She gave me another tank/stand,etc about a month ago too.Anyway,she had the birds out.I told her I always wanted one but couldn't afford one.She asked me did I want both of them,I was shocked! She had a heart attack and just doesn't have the time and energy for them any longer.The only way I could 1 was to take both.She doesn't want them apart from each other

what type of Cockatoo?

I had an Umby for about 8 years but put him up for adoption because my schedule did not allow me time to be a good bird-parent

I gave him away for free but I insisted on interviewing the people to make sure they were right for my baby. I turned quite a few away before finding the perfect stay-at-home bird-obsessed family. I know my boy is having a great life now but it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do - giving him up.

I'm thankful for people like you!

Thank you very much! I am glad you found a good home for yours.I got Umbrella Cockatoos. I got them today (9-5) even though we are starting to get the rain & wind from Hannah,but she turned so will NOT get a direct hit.(I live in Eastern NC,saturday morn. is when we will see a LOT rain)
Anyway.........here they are.What do you think? I am so happy they will never be living in a smoke filled house again.Even if I start smoking again,I dont smoke in my house or SUV

cute! i think the citrons are the cutest cockatoo with their little rosy cheeks lol how are they settling in? i dont think i could do a cockatoo, it takes a special kinda person, and im not it, LOL

so far everything is great! I am so surprised how calm they are, and they have never been around big dogs and cats before.They didn't want to go to bed at their normal bed time (9 PM) but I expected that! They wanted to stay up and play. the morn. will be the test, 2 of my cats hided for 5 hours once the birds got here so I have to see how they act when the birds get up (which is 9 AM I was told) I dont know if they will try to go after the birds.

well its 2:00 AM and I'm going to try to force myself to sleep.I took my sleeping pill 2 hours ago and once again they didn't work,they have only worked once this week! Gotta call my doctor monday

They are beautiful! Yep,those are Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos not umbrellas But they are gorgeous Congrats!!!
