What Kind of bird?

Inspired by Sam's thread, I decided to try and go field herping in the big field behind my apartments...not quite as wild as I'd like, but best I could do on spur of the moment and there's trees and such so...yea. Anyways, not a sign of a snake anywhere, I did however see massive spiders, ungodly amounts of dragonflies, wasps, poison ivy, and a few geckos. LOL. The most interesting and photoworthy were these birds. Anyone know what they are? I'm guessing some sort of heron?

Re: What Kind of bird?

They remind me of the small green herons we have here in Florida. Was there open water nearby?
