Stuck in the mud
A while back during a family outing, we found a Great Egret stuck in the mud and vegetation. I'm much more at ease working with reptiles, but decided to try and help it. The temptation to ring it's little neck grew each time the bird made an attempt to peck me in the face and had my daughters not been there....

Luckily, the bird wasn't too entangled and once freed it quickly flew-off.

Re: Stuck in the mud
He forgot to "lock in the hubs" before entering the puddle.
They do wade around all the time. No idea how or why it was stuck and while it seemed fairly strong, I didn't expect it to fly off.
I didn't see any fishing line, but there may of been some involved, it all happened so quick.
