i have a question about the cardinals. here in ms. the ones i see are always really red.they seem to be a good bit brighter than the pics. show. ive never actually seen one that wasnt really red here.are the ones here a different locality, hence the different color, or do the females not show as much or something?

In general females are less colorful than males. There probably are some differences between locations, but I don't know to what extent.
