Re: Quail?
and taste good too
If I remember correctly, the bib (area directly under the beak on the front of the face and neck) is white on the males.. so Courtnix 3 is a male, and the bibs on the females is buff or tan as seen in the others..

Re: Quail?
i just hatched a couple pharoahs eggs the adult males had the darker color and the females seemed to have a more agressive with human interaction. you can also feel the pelvic bone and if it seperates farther apart from what it is then it's a female the babies are so small

Re: Quail?
cuutteee. Thanks for the comments everyone. #2 has been crowing, so I know that one is definitely a male, but no peeps from the others, so I am hoping I lucked out with like 1.3 I am thinking that #1 and #2 are the same type, just different sexes, #4 is like a normal, and I have no idea what 3 is.
thanks again

Re: Quail?
Wish I could help you out, but all I know about quail is that Medusa and Satan think they're tasty... and somehow I doubt that's the kind of help you're looking for. LOL

I ADORE game birds and hope to someday raise quail or pheasants.
Sorry I can't answer your questions, but those sure are awesome pics!
