African Pygmy Falcon
A fledgling African Pygmy Falcon (Polihierax semitorquatus). Their diet consists almost entirely of insects, but occasionally they'll take small lizards, snakes, and small birds.

Ask the insect, lizard, small snake or bird if it thinks the same! I love birds of prey, so beautiful yet so brutally efficient. Stellar photo, John

I love those little guys! We used to have one in a show followed up by a Stellar's Sea Eagle. Now THAT was a comparison. Those eagles are e-freaking-normous.
