If you are just now coming here to find out what to feed it and what type of things to put in it's cage then you should probably put off getting it.
There are several people here that can probably help you out with the care.. and you could probably find some information about bird care by searching from google.com.

I wasnt trying to pick.... I was trying to help you and your possible future bird.
Like reptiles you need to know what you are getting in to BEFORE you buy the animal!

it's a cockatiel not a pirannah. I doubt it would do much damage. Course without proper care it won't be around very long to bite anyone.

You should've done this research before you decided to get the bird, but let's get past that. If the bird is on it's way, you should consult a caresheet. I'm no bird expert, but my grandfather used to keep birds so I'll give you as much info as i can remember. Cockatiels like to explore so you shoulod get him as large a cage as you can afford or fit in your house. They don't bite so hard that it hurts unless you get a very large adult one. I'm not sure on what you should feed him but some comercial seeds from the pet shop should do it. They like the cages made of metal "prison bars" cause they like to climb up and down the walls (no glass/acrylic tanks with holes.) As for things to put in with him, give him some swings, perches, ropes etc. to climb on and fresh water/food bowls that attach to the side of the cage.
Once again, I'm no specialist so you should look at a care sheet. Hope that's enough info to get you started and, next time, please do the research before you get the pet.
