other than calci-sand, and regular sand, what kind of substrate does everybody use? -Juggalo

I'm using papertowles... Easy to clean, cheap, and no chance of ingestion.

Well, I'd use fine grade play sand only for the older beardies. For the babies, keep them on paper towels until they reach approx. 12" in length before switching them to sand. When they're young, they're still perfecting their hunting skills, and they don't use their tongues to grab crickets, rather they lunge and often end up with a mouthful of sand. When they get older, they learn to use their tongues to pick up crickets and their accuracy improves greatly. So, about 12" in length is a good time to switch them off paper towels. Or you can just keep them on paper towels all the way through their lifetime. No risk of impaction that way.
