Buying a Beardie

I have wanted one for ever so long, and finally decided that the timing is good, and I might have read enough. Here's my question: I have an opportunity to get a 2yr old beautiful boy for $100, or a show coming up the 18th and getting a baby for around $50. Is it easier to get an adult? And is $100 to much to pay? From what I've read, they only live about 5-7yrs. I don't know what to do, I'm so indecisive.

Depends on what your looking for growing with babies is always nice. Babies tend to be a little flighty and Adults tend to be calm. BD's arent very long lived but like anything else who knows with the right type of environment. I don't think $100.00 is bad for an adult and 50 is definately not bad for a baby. One tidbit for you, so when you get one you'll know. BD's eat bugs as part of their diet. This includes just about anything, but never catch FireFlies and feed them to BD's this will kill them. Simply put it expoldes their hearts!

I'm not scared of bugs, Shad. We have a CWD, and while I hate actually touching crickets, I do it. I have read that lightning bugs are bad for reptiles, but didn't know why. I wouldn't catch my own food, anyway. I did read that they can almost be paper trained, (like a puppy), in their enclosure. Guess that's easier to start with a baby. Still not sure what I'm doing yet, but enjoying knowing I will have one soon!
