backed up beardie ?????
Zup all. Well as some of you know I'm underway. which is cool cause in the weee hours of the morning we have internet connectivity. and I can still see whats going on. Pluss we got a really big coke bust. The Hurricane did not do any damage to Holli and I. Hope everyone else was as lucky. Here's my problem Holli e-mailed me and said that the Beardie hasn't pooed in a while I'm not really sure how long it has been or if maybe he pooed behind his log. Or if he's just waiting till he can lay a log of his own
He is on cal sand and a vet really is not an option at this point do any of you really smart people know any home remades That you know to work to share with us.
Thanx
Sincerly the bikini clad coastie

First get him off the sand. The stuff is NOT as good as it is made out to be. Newspaper works fine.
What is the beardie's diet? I need to know this before being able to correct any other errors.

Lettuce has NO nutritional value whatsoever. What you want to feed are leafy dark green veggies. Grab a bag of Organic Spring Mix with Herbs. You will find it in the salad section of the store. A little bit of apple, banana, blueberries, grapes or strawberries as a treat. Feed 70% fruits/veggies and 30% animal proteins. Mealworms are better than crickets in our opinion. Once the juvie just fits in your hand, you can start to feed pinkie mice. Our boy gets 3 pinks a week for his animal proteins. As it gets older you want to back off the proteins and feed exclusively veggies.
Make sure the beardie has UVB.... or about 2 hrs of natural sun a week (15 minutes a day outside, not thru glass or screen). Mist often, they do not like to drink from a water bowl. They drink the droplets as they roll down their faces.

Glad to hear that you weathered the storm safely!
Like ladydrgn said the darker leafy greens are good but dont feed too much of the spinach and kale as too much can harm them. Offer the spinach and kale only every other day with the fruits and veggies on the days between. Parsley and Bok Choy are some other good options that are readily available in the area, or at least once P-Town gets power again.
Here is a link to a good article on feeding.... http://www.reptilerooms.com/Sections...15-page-1.html
You can also get Holli to give the beardie a nice bath, that will usually work to "free" them up.

The mid town tunnel is under water!
They are now saying that it could be months before they get it open again... the water is contaminated and they are going to have to tank and treat it!

Also you might wanna see what size crickets they are feeding.Too large of crickets could probably be a problem. The heads of the crickets dont pass through as well if they are too large,Also in meal worms too.
