What is the best way to add a female to a males cage to avoid the male attacking or killing the female? He is about 12 inches long with tail has a 120 gallon tank all to himself right now.

First make sure they are around the same size. Then place her in the cage and keep a close eye on them. The only problem we have had introducing beardies is the females. They don't like it when a new girl is added to the group. Its kinda like being married!!!LOL

LOL very true. I added my male to two females and the only thing that happened was beardie sex....

I let him stay in the girls cage which was a corner den about 200 gl. I didnt see anything other then the girls head bobbing to get him, which they did. No one tried to kill anyone. Everyone just wanted to mate all the time.

Seems like your den is a good size to work with, a lot of room for movement if a fight does come about.
