I think the Calci-Sand would be OK this is what I use for my Leopard Gecko's and Bearded Dragon, and never had any problem's with it! Also I know constrictor_BO houses his L. gecko's on it with no ill effect's! Also yes you can feed him on it. But I'm sure there are other's who dislike the stuff personally I think it's one of the best substrate's out there for dessert species!

You can buy playground sand and put it in the oven at 300. It's about 3$ for a 20kg bag at homedepot.

about using play ground sand...don't use the normal stuff with chunks of rocks and gravel in it, go for the "ultra fine" stuff they sell at OSH and home depot...
I believe it'll say "50 mesh" on the bag..it's what i use on my uromastyx and beardie and leos..works great.
I don't like calci sand personally...it dyes your animals!
oh well...plus i just don't like how large the grains are...just not for me I guess.

I use repti-sand, and I've been very happy with it... the grain size is nice and small, and I think that the whitish coloured stuff would look great in a beardie tank That's what I'll be getting once Kaz is big enough to switch over....

YES JUG..Babies should not be kept on any of the sand type stuff due to the fact that they could impact from it much easier than a larger dragon.
