questions concerning calcium defiency
So as many know when I got Ozzy he was really sick..I think he had a really bad case of calcium deficiency..
I heard that if they had calcium deficiency when they were younger then often times when they get older the have like..kinks in their tail..?...Anyone know if this is true? Will it be bad for him if he does?
I kinda think I see some..if so they are very slight and not really noticeable..but I may just be making something of nothing..
Any ideas?

Well..he's fine now, he's under all the proper lighting, gets proper feedings..just when he was younger he was super sick. Just worried if it's going to effect him now.

it depends on how severe the defiency was..my gecko was fine when I got her last week, then all of a sudden her legs went..the vet said its something that progresses slowly. There was a beardie there w/ the displaying neurological problems from a defiency. Things can pop up later, but if he is fine now after he recieved all the proper nutrition, I think he would be fine

A lot of times, dragging legs aren't a sympton of calcium deficiency, but instead of impaction. When a dragon gets impacted, it pushes against the spinal cord and paralyzes it. Unless you're absolutely positive that this dragon isn't impacted I would take it to a vet immediately, or it's going to die or be permanently paralyzed.

If you have your dragons on loose substrate please put them on solid substrate. Beardies live on clay not sand and they love to lick what ever is in site. I use multicolored slate time for my beardies. Good luck

Can you post a picture of the kinks? Mine look like they have a slight kink in there tail too. It could be calicum defiency or lack of UVB.

Im not a vet so don't take this as set in stone. Beardies will tend to use up the stored fat in there tails if not getting the proper nutrition. This will then look like the tail is getting kinked. It starts to thin out. Also, it may be caused by dehydration too. Try and keep them hydrated and fed supliments once in a while. All should be good though.
On another note, if they were calcium deficient when you take them to a vet, ask them to give them a liquid calcium boost shot. It may help if symptems are caught in time.
Hope this eases your mind a bit.
