Beardie Breeding Question

I am beginning to breed German Giant X Sandfires, and my only question is "how rough is too rough"? I know that Beardies are supposed to look like they are fighting during the mating process, but I would prefer having some kind of cue about when I should grab The Big Show to keep him from crushing Synn's skull.

The big show has to hold on to something...I guess the back of synn's neck is a good place to start.

if theyre ready to breed, the male wil get a black beard and probably head bob. the female will probably hand wave. then a little fighting goes on and then it all calms down and the deed is done. once the male gets off the female, i would take the male/female and put him/her in another tank. i am 95% sure thats how it goes.
