Is he okay?
Something just doesn't seem right with Ozzy! He is in his cage and usually he's fine. But right now his color is a lot darker then it usually is. And those markings on his belly are more visual the usual..and I read on here somewhere that those indacate that he's stressed.
I took him out, soaked him for a little..which he seemed to want to get out, but his colors lighted up a lot..but now they are dark again. And his eyes seem a bit droopy or something..
What could be wrong?
And he doesn't seem to be eating as much as he usually does.
We got a pretty decent amount of snow last night, think that has anything to do with it? He's temps right now are..
111 in the warmest spot
and bout
83 in the coldest spot.
Maybe he senses something is different with the weather? I dunno.
But I really don't want him to be sick or anything, not sure if most of you know his story or not..if not quick sum...got him from where I work for free cause he was pretty much died...got proper lighting on him, good diet, and he's very alive now.
Just took this pic....

he actually seems to be calming down a little..like his colors are getting better.
But any ideas??

Well my idea is that it may have something to do with the weather. We also got the snow you got last night and I woke up and my beardie was not even up on the basking spot like he is 24/7. He was just laying down on the floor of his tank.
I wouldnt start worring unless he stops eating, or does something unusually noticable.

Mine changed shades all the time, deepening and lightening, I believe it has to do with trying to absorb less and more heat. It can mean stress, it can also be linked to shed, breeding seasons, etc.
If he's eating normally and seems fairly active, I wouldnt worry too much.

Is there anything in your room? My iguana will not relax untile no footballs are in sight he gets really streessed with any football around him and will run/whip it and huffs and puffs. Just see if anything is out of place or new. Is he staring anything down. Just my 2 cents. Also reflections are known to cause stress sometimes as well.

Jamie, my quick guess would be the ambient temps are a bit on the lower side rite now. The stress marks on the belly are not bad, so dont worry about that. did you place anything new in the room? That may be the cause of his stress.
It should all be good though, keep an eye on him though.

Got a good UVB bulb? They go bad long before they burn out and stop making light and if it's shining through a screen, most of the UV is filtered and it's not really helping anyway. Mount the light under the screen or cut away part of the screen and mount the light above it but make sure your bulb is fresh or this could all be the start of something really bad.

I'm pretty sure the uv light is still good..how do I know when it goes bad?
There isn't anything new in or around his cage..or in my room at all. He's used to all my other random animals..in fact it's cute cause he always just sits there and watches em, especially my ferret. And I can tell he isn't afraid or anything like that.
He actually seems to be in a lot better mood today. His colors are really light and such.. I think it was prolly the weather yesterday.
I'm really thinking of building him a cage..I think that would just be so awesome...main problem would be find a place for it. And it would prolly be heavy...I saw this really cool one that someone made, but it took up like the hole corner of their house...I wouldn't mind something like that, but I'm still living at home and such and that would prolly wait till I have a place of my own.
