Bearded Dragons Difficult?
Are these guys difficult to take care of? Im looking to maybe get a pair for this new 180 Gal tank im picking up. Is their any reason why i shouldnt look into full grown adults? I know the care requirements for them i just wanted to know how much they poop, how messy, how much attention they need to stay calm? How many crickets a full grown adult eats?

Beardies do not only eat crickets. They are omnivorous, and should be offered a wide array of fruits and vegetables also.
My biggest concern with getting adults would be their temperment. I like to either raise babies or play with the adult beforehand to make sure it is something handleable.

If you put them in a tank that large, when you do feed crickets I would place them in a smaller tank just for feeding. It will take them forever to find the food.
I do this twice a day. I always know when he's finished eating because he will start trying to get out of the feeder tank..
They are not that difficult. They grow so quickly, I would just get a juvi

Alright ill take your advice but i am almost set on getting an adult. I knew that they eat greens thus why im concidering them b.c i already get all that stuff for the iguana. I really want to put them in this 180 and put some screened sand at the bottom, bricks for basking platform some drift wood and a Mega Ray light. Im going to be setting up the enclosure slowly and getting the dragons next year. I wouldnt think that a juvenile dragon would be overwhelmed in that size tank b.c they live in the wide open wild right!? Its going to be a learning process as it was with my iguana. Im also going to get my dragon(s) from sunshinedragons.com. So i may get a juvenile if they dont have adults avaible.

Young, beardies make wonderful animals to have. They do take a bit of time each and everyday (twice) to feed and spot clean there cages. As far as feeding, they eat all greens just about and they DO eat crickets and mealies and what ever else you place in there. I do believe that some one said they dont though, this is not correct. But they should not be the staple of there diet though. Sounds as if you have a large enough cage, although I personally dont suggest getting two adaults and placing them in the same encloser unless they are two Females that have grown up together, Even females will head butt the other in defence. Although this cage size could provide plenty of room for the two.
Male and Female together should be shund apon due to the stress the male will put on her from trying to mate with her ALL the time. Which could lead to an early death of her due to being brutalized by him or even worse getting broken jaw do to mating.
your lighting set up is great, and you should have no problems since you take care of your Iggy already with no problems....
What I have just wrote is not set in stone, just another view. Use it as you see fit.
Best of luck with them, try not to get hooked like I did.

I have a different view I guess, or maybe not everyone saw the size of the tank. 180g tank is HUGE, and yes, my opinion is it's too big for a juvie dragon. They will/do stress out and won't always stay under the basking light and heat if they have too much room. I believe those are about 6' x 2'; that's also going to be VERY hard to keep at the right temps.
