I recently aquired a pair of bearded dragons, they are approx. 10 weeks old and they eat EVERYTHING then they want some more! They normally get greens in the morning (they love 'em), about 5-6 crickets of head width each at midday an this is repeated later, Every third day they get the same but of locust instead of crickets. I thought this was a good amount to feed, but I was away this week and a friend was looking after them, she told me that often they would eat all the food within minutes and would happily consume more. I feed them last night and noticed the same, they had about 7 crickets each and I had the box of crickets in my hand near them, one of them ran out of the viv and started to try and eat more from the box! So the question is........do I feed them until they don't want any more or are they just being pigs and I should limit their amounts as before

They're little black holes at that age. Let them eat until they start to slow down, but don't introduce too many food items at one time, b/c they'll play pic and stuff their crops full, which could be bad when they try to swallow that mass of cricket mash. Drop some in, let them eat those, then add more, until they start to slow down. Don't let them stuff themselves until they get entirely bloated. Also, keep fresh greens in the cage at all times. Collards are good, as are mustard, dandelion, and turnips (there are more good greens, these are what is usually readily available in the supermarkets around here), and a bit of yellow squash, diced up small. They really enjoy the yellow stuff. They can much on salad if they get hungry between breakfast and dinner crix. They'll eat a LOT of crix, just don't let them get too bloated at one sitting.

Also: Don't feed them quite so many for the second meal, make the first crix the main pig out session. Don't want them sleeping with a huge amount of crix in their belly. Always feed no later than about two hours before lights out.

I leave mine have a plate of greens that i mist down a few times a day, and i give him a dish of mealworms he eats till he stops. then he goes to bask it off for a bit then eats at his leisure. I've always been told feed em as much as he will take when they are youngins just not too large of prey will damage their spine.
