I've just recently gotten a beardie, and I'm still trying to learn their eating habits, b/c I'm used to snakes. I put vitamins and greens/carrots in his bowl, and feed him a couple of mealworms a day. He's a juvie, about 8" long or so. The first day I fed him meal worms he ate about 5 of them, b/c I hadn't been in town and my g/f didn't want to touch the worms...since then he hasn't eaten hardly anything. Granted, I noticed yesterday that he shed (no indications like w/snakes), so I'm thinking that that might be the reason he didn't eat. I've heard contridictions on what to feed, though. Some say that mealworms are all that they feed their beardies...some say that they should be fed crickets, and just mealworms as a treat. Which is right? Also, should beardie's soak like snakes? I was told that humidity really isn't a concern, per say, as it is with snakes...plus the relative humidity in the house is about 40-50% all the time. I mist him about twice a day anyway, but wasn't sure about the soaking. Thanks in advance for any help.
