Received my Mega Ray bulb and the lizard

BD seems more active with the bulb. After two hours the lizard has jumped onto the log I was going to return to the pet store because I thought it was too difficult for the BD to climb. The 50 gallon may have been a little cool but the Flood light definately heats and brightens the tank up. I purchased the light stand and wire holder and the lizard is now basking away. I put my strip light from the 10 gallon on the opposite side of the tank with the sun-ray bulb in it. The basking spot is at least 105 degrees but I think thats normal. How long do these bulbs last?
Thanks,
Troy

is it the 100 watt?
This bulb is warranted for 6-months to produce a minimum of 50 microwatts (mW/cm2) at 12”. This is what you will get with the minimum expectancy but so far my observations have been much better leaving the door open to wait the actual year that other companies will try and sell you on their boxes.
If in the meantime you have a problem with the bulb email reptile uv or reptile direct ( depending on where you recieved it from) and you will get a prompt replacement.
Does the dragon have a cool place to retreat?

Mega Ray

The BD does have a place to retreat. I purchased a 50 gallon tank that allows him to go to a cool side but he prefers to go under a log on the hot side of the tank. The basking site is about 12 inches from the light. Do dragons darken as they get older. He was a yellowish color and now he is turning darker green?
Thanks,
Troy

lizards in general get darker when not in direct light ---when they are cool and when they are stressed--or about to shed.
