Question weird behavior

I normally have a water bowl im my dragon's aquarium but I'm home for the holidays and he is in a smaller tank that doesn't have room for one so i put him in the bathtub with warm water which he normally like. the other day he looked like he was hyperventilating in the tub and taking in a lot of air so that his body inflated like a balloon. once i took him out of the bathtub he deflated himself. i could hear the hiss of the air coming out of him. he has never done this before

does anyone have any ideas what cause this???

beardiedragon will become famous soon enough
it's normal

when they feel the water is too deep they do that to float. try filling the tub partially and putting him in so he can stand up and just get his belly wet. If he wants to walk into the deep end, he can do it on his own.

Would'nt this move to a new temporary home also stress him out and make him overreact?
