south american tree boa?

My uncle used to have a boa that he says was a south american tree boa. It was 13 years old and 6'6" long but it looked like a regular RTB but this thing was definatly aboreal. My question is is their such a boa and if so how hard are they to find?

Is it possible that he had something like a Mexican or Central American BCI? They tend to be a little lighter bodied and smaller than the Colombians. I have noticed that the smaller boas, such as the Hog Islands, will tend to spend more time climbing.
