What determines Jag-osity?
This is probably a dumb question, but how does the Jaguar morph work in carpet pythons? I've tried to find info on how it is inherited but I'm still confused. I read that it is not one of those dom, co-dom, or recessive patterns like most of the ball python morphs seem to be. But, there are Jags and Jag-siblings, so I am confused. Is it like banana kings or lipstick boas where they are being selectively bred for a certain look/color, and some in each litter end up more Jaggy and some end up more normal?
Thanks for humoring my silly questions!

Re: What determines Jag-osity?
Thanks for the bumps and for the article! The author states that it is a codominant trait. If it is a one-gene thing, does anyone know how the jaguar gene affects the jag siblings? What the mechanism is? Is it polygenic?
Thanks!

Re: What determines Jag-osity?
The gene does not carry over to the siblings

Re: What determines Jag-osity?
But Jag siblings get crazy patterns. How does that work?

Interbreeding/crossing different carpet sub-species to get different looks out of the jags. Thats why the sibs look so different.
