as long as they are not in the path of a cold draft from a AC vent, and the cage is maintaining a 75-80% humidity then it should be find in the upper 70's at night.
The alternative is a radiant heat panel (small one) over a small part of the cage, but put it on a thermostat to only come on when it is really needed.
A heat lamp or panel during the day is fine, but remember, there are not basking lamps in the jungle and the temps there can get quite cool at night, and those snakes are generally well adapted for it.

Telefrag beat me to it. I was going to ask why you even needed a night time heat source at all here in FL. Unless you keep your apartment/house like a freezer, he'll do fine. I don't use heat on my chondro at all during the summer. The room heats up into the mid-high 80s and drops to about 78 or so at night. I only use a day time lamp during the winter and let the room drop to the low 70s without any trouble. Adult, healthy established chondros can take some pretty cool temps.

Re: Chondro Woes
Oh my, Aly. I think Yoshi would run into a brick wall to see if he could eventually get through if he actually had legs
You guys should actually "build" some custom enclosures and stick those heat panels in there. They're expensive (in my opinion) but Alan and I are working on making some big fancy shmancy enclosures with heat panels so we don't have any explosive spontaneous combustable heat pads go off, or stupid bulbs that get too hot.
One of the ballies tried to rub her face on a heat emitter... she got put into a nice tall tank. D'oh.
