Got 'er Hooked

Like a bad drug, i got my JCP hooked on rats after one. Tonight was the first night she ate within minutes and in front of me, so i snapped a few pics.

She took the rat (not scented with a mouse) within a couple of minutes, a huge improvement for her.


She couldn't find the head, but obviously that didn't stop her

This is the second time she took a rat, the first was last thursday. She finally showed signs of a good feeding response.

Note: I only fed her in her cage because she doesn;t have the most enthusiastic feeding response. I'll probably start feeding her in a seperate container next week.

Excellent news! Some of them like certain scents. I feed all my arboreals in their cages. Most wouldn't eat outside of it, and I can't imagine trying to remove a ticked off chondro at night!! Jungles aren't exclusively aroboreal, but they do often perch and take their food there. My amazons are fed in the cage and do just fine. The've never gotten substrate as usually at night they are climbing.
