I need opinions:
So I have my 5' CCP in a LARGE acrylic cage, but I want to make it more natural. I have several bricks of the EcoEarth laying around (I only need one to refresh the kingsnake's cage), and I was wondering if this is ok to put into the Carpet Python's cage. It would take 2 bricks EASY...floor space is 108 sq feet...Aside from the space is this an ok substrate for him?

Re: I need opinions:
Yes but it needs to be replaced, if you don't have dirt to break down fecal matter. You could probably spot clean for a little while but eventually you will have to change it out.

Re: I need opinions:
I don't like that stuff because it gets into their heat pits, but then I am not into the elaborate naturalistic cages.

Re: I need opinions:
Very interesting point Morti. I wonder if it is more dangerous than good old dirt.
In our new cage we put down spill master carpet padding and then pond liner on top of it. We were considering doing the dirt in our snake cages like we do our monitors, but they don't dig and won't ever need nest spots, so we stuck with pond liner, we just made it soft to lay on

Re: I need opinions:
Yeah, I use Newspaper. I have something bad I can say about just about everything else I have tried. The only thing bad I can say about newspaper is: It's not very pretty.
I realized a long time ago that pretty cages are not always the best cages.
